Say Goodbye to the Trade Show circuit!

Awwww Maaaaaaaannnnnnnnn! The one thing I look forward to every year around this time are the Trade Shows that come in November and December. These are essential in keeping oneself in the know of all things automotive and now that’s up in smoke too. Guess I should have seen that one coming though.

The grand daddy of them all, SEMA, packs more people into a couple of square miles than just about any conference outside of the Consumer Electronics Show. This fact being, and also that it takes place in Vegas, it’s no wonder the organizers chose to throw in the towel on this one.

And I’ve been going to PRI (the Performance Racing Industry show) since it’s inception in 1988. Only missed two shows since then. So far they’re saying that this one is still on and that extra safety precautions will be in place to keep us all safe. I’m cautiously optimistic on this one but I can’t see just how they’re going to accomplish this. If I was a betting man I wouldn’t put much hope on this one either.

Shortly after releasing this, the Specialty Equipment Manufacturer’s Association (SEMA) who owns the Performance Racing Industry, has decided to pull the plug on this year’s event in December as well. All work and no trade shows makes Scrape a dull boy.
